A series of live art workshops for children created by chris+keir in response to the ICA galleries 2009 exhibition program.
In 2009 chris+keir were asked to curate a series of children’s workshops in response to the main gallery shows over the year. We worked with the ICA curatorial and education teams and the artists themselves to create a series of anarchic live art workshops for kids. We created our workshops in response to each show as it was installed at the gallery. These included a cardboard sound system clash for the ‘Rhythm Section’ group exhibition, a dissolving art film for Nathaniel Mellor’s ‘Our House’, a Tabloid-style newspaper called, ‘Already Done It’ and the birth of an anarcho-syndicated children’s co-op in the ICA galleries. To find out more about our approach read our interview in the ICA’s ‘Roland Magazine’ by artist Louis Moreno from Urban Laboratory.
