In 2020 I was awarded the Inspiring and Innovative Teaching Award, nominated by students at the university. This award is given to one lecturer per year, per faculty and is highest honour the university gives for teaching. he awards are student led. As an educator knowing that you’ve made a positive impact in the lives of your students, no matter how small, is the single greatest accolade you can receive as an academic.
In my accompanying ‘Best of Bristol Lecture 2020’ I discussion the importance of inclusion in innovation in my lecture entitled: “Disability, Innovation and Culture:Lovely Cats Made of Care Bears’ Leggings”. You can watch my lecture below and read an interview about my work on the BILT blog.
